The catbird seat: the advantages of the disabled have limits
Article Abstract:
A quadriplegic man in a wheelchair discovers all the advantages that his disability generates. It enables him to get through airport customs without declaring anything, avoid speeding tickets, obtain first class airline tickets and other amenities. He thinks he has it made until he discovers his status does not allow him to bypass the blind in the eyes of able-bodied people. An effort to enter an elevator first earns him the wrath of others who cater to a blind man and hold the doors for him before anyone else.

Exploring the health - wealth nexus
Article Abstract:
With the use of Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID), it is found that a change in wealth has a strong correlation with change in health status in the short run. But that doesn't mean that health and wealth are not interdependent in the long run, even though only changes over 5 year intervals are considered.
