Kansas Health Foundation will fund media campaign to improve children's health
Article Abstract:
Sullivan Higdon and Sink and the Wichita State University are the recipients of a $3.8-million grant from the Kansas Health Foundation, a philanthropic organization established with the aim of improving the health of the citizens of Kansas. Under the terms of the grant, Sullivan Higdon will tap research and academic resources from the university in the development of a campaign designed to improve children health in the state via increased adult involvement.

National Institutes of Health gives research funds to U. of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University
Article Abstract:
The Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, both in Pennsylvania, are the joint recipients of a five-year, $10-million grant from the US National Institutes of Health. The grant will be use in the establishment of the Center for the Study of Mind-Body Interactions and Health. The center is expected to focus on understanding the influence of the human mind in the development and recovery from a number of illnesses.

Nursing work force of the future: the administrative perspectiv

The health care industry, significantly challenged by inadequate salaries, currently faces a nursing work force shortage as well. Nursing work environments need improvement, efforts toward recruitment and retention increased, and leadership and management skills improved.
