Article Abstract:
A material resource planning 'champion' recounts his experiences in implementing changes in the organizations which he served such as effecting behavior change and the ironic effects of successful organizational innovations. Leaders are successful in effecting change when they are able to instill behavioral change in their workers. An explanation of the performance pyramid method in measuring performance is presented. This concept enables teams to evaluate their function in the total performance of their facility.

Is there a marriage between productivity and quality?
Article Abstract:
A model for the transition to quality improvement productivity programs is presented, with required changes in managerial philosophies and organizational values. Steps for envisioning and implementing the plan are outlined, focusing on capabilities positioning, and the continuum-culture process is diagrammed through 10 pillars and their gaps. The processes of culture identification and the development of an ethic of excellence are described. A strategy for decision making is detailed.
