The effect of intermittent noise exposure on wound healing
Article Abstract:
An investigation into the effect of intermittent noise exposure on wound healing found laboratory rats exposed to varying degrees of broad-band white noise experienced slower wound healing than their more peaceful counterparts. The study has implications for wound healing in hospital patients though further research with humans is needed. Recommended noise levels for hospitals is about 45 dB(A), but studies have found hospital noise levels vary from 45 dB(A) to 86 dB(A) throughout the day and night.

Nutritional aspects of wound healing
Article Abstract:
Anthropometric, biochemical, and clinical data, analyzed in conjunction with dietary history, can be used to evaluate the need for nutritional intervention to facilitate wound healing. Medical nutrition therapy may consist of enteral or parenteral nutrition or oral feeding. A proper nutritional assessment will evaluate the patient's energy expenditures and corresponding needs for fluids, protein, vitamins, and minerals such as zinc.

A 4-year outcome-based retrospective study of wound healing and limb salvage in patients with chronic wounds
Article Abstract:
A 4-year study of patients with chronic wounds found that limb salvage and healing were better when platelet releasate was combined with comprehensive wound care. The study was retrospective and outcome-based, covering 39 medical centers and 3,830 patients. Two main divisions of patients were made: those receiving comprehensive wound care by itself and those receiving platelet releasate in addition.
