Despite AMA effort, authority of FTC remains unclear
Article Abstract:
The American Medical Association (AMA) maintains that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) does not have the authority to regulate the professions. The AMA is lobbying against FTC regulation of medicine and physicians and will continue to fight legislation in Congress that gives specific regulating powers to the FTC.
