Assessing abuse in female suicide survivors

Article Abstract:

The marital relationship before suicide is an important factor in the way the survivor responds to spousal suicide. If abuse occurred, this may impact the bereavement process as well as coping strategies for life after the suicide. A study of 49 female suicide survivors showed that 65.3% had experienced abuse, expecially verbal in nature. The study's finding that survivors may continue to love the suicide victim even if abuse occurred is consistent with other abuse research. More research on the psychology of suicide survivors needs to be done.

Partners in Care: A Model of Collaboration

Article Abstract:

Patient case management can be enhanced through health care collaboration between physicians, nurses and other medical staff. Research studies using cardiac patients reveal that coordination between cardiologists, primary care physicians and nurse case managers provides the most efficient model to enhance outcomes, particularly in older patients. Physicians and nurses work together to monitor and manage chronic heart disease.
