A brief history of baseball and of postcards is presented. Types of postcards including picture postcards are described. Several kinds of postcards depicting baseball themes are collectibles. The maximum card is one in which the picture, cancelled stamp and postmark are related.

St. Patrick is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. The US has never issued a stamp commemorating his achievements, but several cities with Irish names offer cover cancellations in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
