Hans Erni, a master of many trades

Hans Erni is a Swiss artist who has designed about 50 stamps, many for the United Nations. His painting, 'Encounter (Peace),' was featured on the UN issue of Sep 21, 1993, as part of International Peace Day. Switzerland regards Erni as its national artist, and has a museum in his name.

A unique sheet that got by the UNPA
Article Abstract:
The UNPA strictly regulates the printing of its postage stamps. In 1965 a Berlin, Germany, printing company printed its name on the sheets of stamps in violation of UN rules. The sheets that were distributed had high value.

UNPA produces philatelic bulletin

The UNPA will replace its former order forms and with a bulletin in an effort to reduce operating costs in Jan 1993. Descriptions and prices of previously issued stamps are provided.
