How we looked and what we wrote back then

Article Abstract:

Popular Photography focused on one photographer's experiment with soaking photographic paper with TNT before exposing an image on it. The drawback was that exposure time had to be long and the light had to be very intense, thus discouraging commercial application for this approach.

Popular Photography provided a series of helpful hints articles. Some of the regular departments that featured equipment technology are no longer featured in the journal in 1993. There was also a regular section on making movies.
