Pentax 28-80mm f/3.5-4.7 FA AF
Article Abstract:
The Pentax 28-80mm f/3.5-4.7 FA AF, priced at $383.50, is relatively easy to use, but it is heavy and lacks a depth-of-field scale. The best performing focal lengths are 28mm and 50mm. Light flare was manageable but a ghost image was detected at 28mm at all apertures.

Tamron 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 AF
Article Abstract:
The Tamron 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 AF, priced at $259, is light and compact. One small problem is in the shifting of the image during autofocusing. Images are sharp at all focal lengths. Strong flare was seen at 70mm at all apertures.
