Ricoh's flashy new superstar (disguised in banker's gray)
Article Abstract:
The Ricoh GR1 has a retail price of $799, but sells for about $500 in many stores. The camera is compact and lacks a stylish design, but the workings of it are excellent. The performance is aided by the position of the settings and the fact that they remain after the camera is turned off.

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a samurai! No, it's Yashica's Acclaim Profile!
Article Abstract:
The $279 Acclaim Profile 4000ix has very unusual styling and looks more like a camcorder than a camera. It is a small camera whose unusual shape makes for comfortable handling. The camera has good access to controls and the lens and flash tested well in the lab.
