Highlights in the life of Michaels, a lawyer, are presented along with anecdotes about his stamp collecting. Some of his rare stamps are described. In 1950, Michaels was one of six alumni out of 30,000 from the University of Michigan to be honored as Distinguished Alumni.

King George V assembled a fantastic collection

King George V of England amassed an extensive stamp collection during his life. He began collecting stamps as a youth when he began sailing around the world. He has many rare stamps, and received 1,500 as a wedding gift in Jul 1893.
