Road Warrior
Article Abstract:
GameTek's $40 Road Warrior simulation computer game has superior Super VGA graphics, but is too absurd to take seriously. In the game, users play Drake Edgewater, a taxi cab driver/assassin who has destroyed OmniCorp and taken its Hydergine 344 plant from the Kemo city prison. The goal of the game is to survive outside of the prison, which is difficult because OmniCorp president Torva Yul has ordered your death. Users must fight through 13 different areas to win the game. Road Warrior contains mindless humor, unattractive stereotypes and absurd setups. The game does not require strategy and contains repetitive scenarios. Road Warrior utilizes stale, comic book-style screens to navigate users through the game. The game's juvenile characters include transvestites, drug addicts and drunks. Road Warrior's attempt to joke about political correctness is insulting to the average user's intelligence.
