"Honolulu Advertiser" collection on auction block

Article Abstract:

The 19th century collection is highly prized since it contains the rare 'missionaries.' These stamps were issued for use between Hawaii and the US and the collection contains 20% of the known supply. Other facets of the collection are described along with a history of missionaries in Hawaii.

Kelleher initiates telephone auction system

Kelleher's is the oldest of the US stamp auctioneers. On June 27, 1995 the company will begin its Telephone Stamp Auction. Details of how the auction operates are provided. Ways in which this auction is different from services from other philatelic auction houses is recounted.
