Etched glass beads

Article Abstract:

Etching a glass bead produces a unique effect that makes the bead look as if it is polymer clay. To produce matte beads, one has to soak the beads in an etching solution. Using nail polish, one then proceeds in designing and polishing the beads.

"Painting" the bead

A nine-step guide for painting Spectrum-stained glass tree beads is presented. The tools needed for painting include a torch, a didymium glass, mashers, a kiln, clear glass rods and blue and earth-colored Spectrum glass measuring 14mm square.
