Birds have many characteristics that humans envy. Birds have the ability to fly, they produce marvelous birdsong and many species escape the harshness of winter by flying south. Their lives, though short, seem to be filled with a serendipity that we can only dream about.

Article Abstract:

Country life, especially for parents, is one continuous car ride. The length of the trip to town for school functions, sports, and groceries erodes one's willingness to go back out for cultural, social, or volunteer opportunities.
