Centers and edges: Modern ceramic design and sculpture 1880-1980
Article Abstract:
An exhibition titled 'Centers and Edges: Modern Ceramic Design and Sculpture, 1880-1980' held at the Smart Museum of Art, University of Chicago, from June2- September 18, 2005 traced the history of modern ceramics. Some of the exhibits included a 1916 pottery from the Ruskin Pottery, which illustrated the revival of ceramics during the Arts and Crafts movement.

Chardiet: still life
Article Abstract:
Chardiet's sculptures ably communicate his Cuban heritage with their crisp colors and Caribbean character. Often expressed in the most traditional of art forms, the table top still life, his works have maintained that historical link to use that remains the focus of the modern glass movement.
