An exhibition 'From the Kilns of Denmark', is curated by Wendy Tarlow and Hope Barkan in association with the Danish Museum of Decorative Art, featuring 30 ceramists. The Danish citizens have held a leadership position in the design world for more than 50 years and the Danish pots teach us the power of simple form and the seductive beauty of glaze.

Michelle Holzapfel: sacred elements of domestic ritual
Article Abstract:
Holzapfel carves scenes from domestic life in her burl wood works. She uses a metal lathe and a fine pneumatic carving tool to create the intricate details of dolls, books, plates of food and other objects. She is one of the few women who does wood carving.

Syd Carpenter: rooted in clay
Article Abstract:
Syd Carpenter's ceramic sculptures often allude to a life force with their spiraling and twisting forms. Carpenter started experimenting with sculptural forms during the mid-1980s and has often used vessels as parts of her works.
