Different ideas and information for making green roofs in Pacific Northwest are discussed. A green residential rooftop can be built for $8 to $12 per square foot and has lots of ecological benefits like, it can act as a storm window to reduce energy use, insulate the house from summer heat and winter chillness, produce more oxygen and both absorb and reflect more noise.

The plan used for expanding a tiny 1930s bungalow into a modest structure is presented. Some of the changes made include adding a series of rooflines that blended with its surroundings, making a loft above the master suite to be used as an office and adding built-in cabinets.
