Gimmicks make dolls endearing
Article Abstract:
Dolls with action features date back to 1921 with Rock-a-Bye Baby, who could close her eyes and cry 'Mama.' Gimmicks such as these make them favorites of collectors. Walking, talking, crying and wetting dolls proliferated from the 1940s to the 1960s. A few current prices are given.
