Many nodders, whimsical figurines with a free-moving suspended head or other part, has a smoking theme, and are among the currently popular tobacco- related collectibles. Made from Victorian times to the mid-20th century, nodders can be found in shops, antique shows, garage sales and flea markets.

It's a Howdy Doody world

Antique items from the 1950s "Howdy Doody" television show continue to be popular among collectors in the 1990s. The show, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 1998, produced an assortment of items, such as pins, buttons, and dolls priced from a few dollars to several hundred thousand dollars.

Nodders

Nodders, figurines with movable parts such as a nodding head, were made in China as early as 200 B.C. They have been popular since the Victorian era, and are made out of porcelain, papier mache or pressed cardboard. Labels are rare, and collectors should buy what they like.
