Midwives deliver
Article Abstract:
Although urbanization caused a drift away from the practice of midwifery, there is a trend back to non-doctor-assisted birthing with midwives and nurse midwives, often in stand-alone birth centers, assisting at the births. The practice and certification for midwifery is discussed.

Saving the land
Article Abstract:
Rural land owners can sell their easement or development rights to conservation groups such as the Tacos Land Trust of New Mexico and thus insure that the land is never developed into housing projects. The land owners retain the right to sell or pass on their land to heirs.

Apache plume
Article Abstract:
Fallugia paradoxa, known commonly as the Apache plume is native to the high deserts of the West and Southwest. It is extremely resistant to all types of weather and drought and produces an abundance of small white blossoms that later turn into pink plumes of seeds.
