Article Abstract:
A personal narrative is presented describing a former park ranger's experiences of working on the Natchez Trace Parkway in the American South. The Trace has been used for centuries, originally as a footpath for the local Native American tribes, and Springtime in the parkway is a riot of color and perfumes.

The floodplain of the lower Roanoke river, NC, is home to fifty-five species of bird and one hundred and thirty-one have been spotted here. The landscape has evolved over time to become home to such a diverse wildlife.
