Queen of the prairie
Article Abstract:
The queen of the prairie, or Filipendula rubra, is native to the US east of the Mississippi and grows more often in ditches and marshes then in prairies. Its striking pink flowers make a nice border and it requires little care except room to grow and plenty of water.

The joys of Joe-Pye
Article Abstract:
The Joe-Pye is a wildflower that grows up to 14 feet tall and develop dusty rose colored clusters of small flowers. It makes a beautiful natural looking addition to both natural and formal gardens. It grows best in moist soil that gets some sun everyday.

Prairie smoke

The prairie smoke is found in a variety of habitats from dry, sandy prairies to moist climates with loamy soil. It is hardy and can withstand extreme cold and heat. Propagation of the shrub can be done by seed or division. Growing tips are provided.
