Race car: a woodworking project for kids both young and old

Any solid wood scrap of the appropriate thickness can be used to make the racing car. The patterns are taped to wood pieces and cut with a band saw. The car's driver is ordered from a catalog. The racing cap is made from a dowel that was bored out with a drill press and painted.

Medium-density-overlay plywood is used to make the bodies of dinosaurs which serve as the sides of a children's slide. Extra effort was made to make the slide safe for children of all ages. Step-by-step instructions are provided for cutting out and assembling the slide.
