Tom Bloch, the former chief executive officer of his family's tax service, H&R Block, resigned his $600,000-per-year job for a teaching job that pays $20,000. Bloch felt that he needed to do more for his community and he became a math teacher at St. Francis Xavier, a private Catholic middle school for underprivileged children in Kansas City.
