The Daughters of the American Revolution Museum in Washington DC is staging an exhibition entitled 'The Historical Precedent for the Art Quilt.' This exhibition presents 25 traditional and non-traditional quilts from the 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as 12 of their counterparts from the late 20th century.

Jamestown's link to Shakespeare
Article Abstract:
The events in William Shakespeare's 'The Tempest', were influenced by William Strachey's description of Jamestown, VA. The nexus was established when Strachey's ring was unearthed within the area. National Geographic Society will put the ring and other archeological finds from Jamestown on display.

Grizzly times
Article Abstract:
Industrial development is threatening grizzly bear habitat which may eventually result in the species' extinction. Extensive grizzly habitat is lost every year to logging and mineral development. Environmentalists contend that the US government is not doing enough to protect bear habitat.
