Use a water clock to mark time in your garden!
Article Abstract:
A clock that marks time with dripping water can be easily constructed using a ceramic and a glass container. Time marks are painted on the glass jar and brass tubing is used to create a water spout on the ceramic jar which is calibrated to drip just enough to fill the water in the glass jar to mark time.

Areas where it seems like nothing will grow can be made into a rock garden area where succulents, cacti and other hardy plants can thrive. The area should be dug out, leveled and decorated with large rocks before it is filled in with sand. The best plants are suggested.
