The town of Mt. Laurel, Alabama have reworked their principles found in older neighborhoods by various designers, architects, with attractive results, well-designed homes lining brick-paved sidewalks and a town center, all surrounded by the forested foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The architectural regulations were enacted to ensure continuity of craftsmanship and aesthetics, preserve natural land, streams, and drainages, and maintain plants and trees.
