Industry hopes CPSC sets 30 - minute burn test
Article Abstract:
The California has revised its fire safety code for mattresses to 30 minute burn test from earlier 60 minute burn test after the industry representative Al Kalncnik of Serta convinced that longer test time will triple the cost of the mattresses and make them extremely uncomfortable. The industry hopes that the forthcoming norms by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission also will be for 30 minute burn test.

Feds eye tougher FR rule

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is planning to recommend tougher mattress flammability standards for the furniture industry, the members of International Sleep Products Association also have supported the new recommendations.
