La-Z-Boy launches California store, Wisconsin gallery

La-Z-Boy of Monroe, MI, has unveiled a new outlet in Chico, CA, and a gallery in Madison, WI. The Chico La-Z-Boy, owned by Steve Le Claire, has 18,000 sq ft of space divided into four major showrooms, including family room, leather, living room and chair. The Madison gallery, located inside Leath Furniture, has 6,000 sq ft of showroom space. Both locations feature products that include motion sofas, modular furniture, recliners, sleep sofas, stationary sofas, leather upholstery and chairs from La-Z-Boy's American Home Collection line.

JSF Inds. buys building on Main St

JSF Industries, a company that produces mid- to high-end furniture and home accents, has purchased the former Masonic Temple at 443 S. Main St. in High Point, NC. The purchase means that JSF has joined the rising number of showroom tenants who have shifted to ownerships of furniture showrooms in High Point. The two-story building has 20,000 sq ft of space and a 25-car parking space. Construction has began to prepare the building's first level for the showing of JSF's furniture lines in October 1998.
