River Oaks aiming to exit Chap. 11

River Oaks of Fulton, MS, has forged a debt-restructuring deal with BNY Financial Corp. that could help it emerge from Chapter 11 protection. The 11-year-old furniture manufacturer, which was placed under bankruptcy protection in March 1998, is expected to present its reorganization proposal to US Bankruptcy Court in December 1998. River Oaks, which has reduced its five plants to two, one in Compton, CA, and another in Baldwin, MS, has also finalized its choice of a new CEO following a restructuring of its management team.
