The George Wythe House

Article Abstract:

The George Wythe House is one of colonial Williamsburg's finest houses and is located at the Palace Green. It was built in 1755 by Colonel Richard Taliaferro for his daughter, Elizabeth, and her husband, George Wythe. It has brick arches above the windows, a water table and a belt course.

Poplar Forest: Jefferson's other house

Article Abstract:

Jefferson's country home near Lynchburg, VA, which he designed and built in the style of a Palladian villa, is undergoing restoration. Writing in 1812, Jefferson touted it to be the best house in the state, next only to Monticello. He last visited it in 1823, three years before he died.

An artful Pennsylvania house

Article Abstract:

Ted and Carolyn Fitzkee's two-story stone house in New York County, PA, dates back to the early 18th century. The couple found the house after their marriage in 1960. The house is furnished with antiques that further add to the dwelling's artistic value and quality.
