SUV advertising: The Detroit project
Article Abstract:
The Detroit Project also known as Americans for Fuel Efficient Cars (AFEC) uses advocacy advertising/campaigns to persuade Americans to give up their Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) so that dependence on the foreign oil that funds terrorism is reduced and action against terrorist activity is initiated. The effectiveness of the project's advertising campaign is examined and the manner in which strategic marketing affects public opinion is demonstrated.
