There are a number of arguments in favour of reducing the role of the British monarchy. These include the fact that constant media intrusion is making it impossible for members of the royal family to function as ordinary human beings, and may even by having a negative psychological impact on them. The royal family has lost all its dignity, and there are no longer any safeguards to protect it.

Issues relating to the resurrection of the ensemble in Australian theatre are presented. The investment of theatre companies in ensembles is seen to be a reaction to the impression that much of the work seen on stage is 'stale', and for the purpose of raising standards.
