Social Security is flawed. Is privatization imminent?
Article Abstract:
The Social Security is defective. Its pay-as-you-go structure violates the three principles of social security. These principles require that senior citizens retire with financial security, that workers enjoy the fruits of their labor and that the economy is not undermined by these two objectives. Because young people pay benefits to the elderly, benefit payments are merely intergenerational transfers from the young to the old retirees. The solution to this situation is the privatization of the Social Security.
