Insurers still climbing Internet learning curve
Article Abstract:
A growing number of insurance companies are establishing a presence on the Internet. However, their use of the Internet rarely extends beyond creating home pages to provide prospective customers with corporate overviews, product descriptions and agent directories. Most insurers have not grasped the functional opportunities presented by the Internet. Industry experts believe the Internet could serve as an ideal platform for carrying information-intensive business processes that have traditionally been ascribed only to mainframe computers.

Congressional information is provided on the CapWeb site and the Yahoo search site.
