Management programs serve customers and insurers
Article Abstract:
Health insurers that underwrite disability insurance and other policies that can benefit from rehabilitation/case management programs should consider expanding these programs. The goal of these programs is to provide cost-effective care to people with disabilities who have special rehabilitation and medical needs. A Health Association of America survey found that rehabilitation/case management programs produced $30 of savings for every $1 invested, using data collected from disability lines from 1991 to 1993.
