Article Abstract:
Insurers need to develop new methods of management and performance measurement as they move into non-traditional and alternative distribution channels. Insurers may also need to evaluate their products and their services to ensure that the value they deliver has not been changed by using alternative and non-traditional distribution channels. Among the new distribution channels insurers have started using are direct distribution and a portfolio-management approach to the market.
