Fifty-nine people are seen to be the most influential in the insurance industry in 1998. These people who are predicted to affect the course of the industry include Sun-America Chmn and CEO Eli Broad, Conseco Chmn, Pres and CEO Steve Hilbert, Prudential Healthcare Western Div Pres Cora Tellez and Delaware Insurance Commissioner Donna Lee Williams. The list also includes Medical Mutual of Ohio Chmn, CEO and Pres Kent W. Clapp, Kentuckians for Health Care Reform co-chairman Jane Chiles, chief counsel of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency Julie Williams and consumer activist Ralph Nader.

A company's organizational capability to execute business strategies which would make the most of its resources will determine its future success. There are considerations, which a company must determine before it can start developing, such as naming the right business strategy and developing the corresponding organizational capabilities needed to implement the strategy. Organizational capabilities include the abilities to attract, develop and retain productive salespeople, to understand client needs for product development, technology integration and to provide credible advice.

Welfare benefit plan grows in tax-free environment

Shareholder-employees in small business, such as C corporations, S corporations and professional service corporations, can obtain life insurance, supplemental unemployment insurance, disability insurance and medical insurance through a nonqualified employee benefits plan. It can be used to supplement a profit sharing or pension plan that has been implemented because it is nonqualified.
