Using technology to connect compensation with performance management
Article Abstract:
The concept of 'pay for performance' has taken centre stage with more companies looking for ways to adopt technologies that integrate performance management and compensation management systems seamlessly. Effective pay-for-performance processes include setting criteria for performance and the rewards that are to accrue on achieving the targets, manage, evaluate and compensate as the benchmarks are realized at specified intervals during the year. Adopting the right technology that helps support the competencies of the employees in reaching the cascading goals, managing performance effectively throughout the organizational structure, and ensuring timely compensation linked to sustained performance. Internet- based systems permit employees to access all goals in the common database and ensure faster alignment of individual goals if the organizational goals are modified to meet market demands.
