Why there's simply no place like home
Article Abstract:
Christine Willis runs and owns Home from Home, a small company that lets property and is based in London, England. She saw a business opportunity in the increasing number of people with second homes in London which they did not want to sell due to having mortgage debt higher than the value of the home. Hotels are more expensive than renting, so demand is also strong. The company achieved a turnover of some 500,000 pounds sterling for 1995, with a gross profit of 125,000 pounds and overheads at 120,000 pounds.

The price of country homes is high since there are few available for sale. Corbridge is a popular town as is Darras Hall, close to the airport, and houses can cost between 300,000 pounds sterling and 400,000 pounds. Houses with four to five bedrooms in Gosforth can command prices of 350,000 pounds sterling.
