Adapting US defence to future needs
Article Abstract:
The American military's impressive performance against the relatively minor challenges of the post-Cold War era has resulted in a dangerous complacency in American national-security thinking. The US is not making the adaptations required to ensure that its current superiority endures. It should concentrated on a preventive-defence approach to long-term threats to security, instead of intervening in minor conflicts.
