Corruption and the Mexican political system: continuity and change

Corruption has a long history in Mexican government and will continue to be prominent through the early years of the 21st century. Since the end of the Salinas regime in 1997, attempts to curb corruption remain largely theoretical prospects.

Brazil: the politics of crisis
Article Abstract:
Brazil's most recent financial crisis coincided with the 1998 reelection of President Fernando Henrique Cardoso, and is essentially political. The solution depends on making changes in Brazilian politics and enacting constitutional reforms.
