Major powers in the Pacific are following increasingly sophisticated hedging strategies, and the region is reaching the point where likely events and policy choices may soon start to foreclose options.Three probably decision points include the process of Korean reunification, the future of Taiwan and the deployment of missile-defence systems by the US and its allies.
