This article discusses the Sixth Conference of the Parties at The Hague in November 2000. The meeting, held for the purpose of refining the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, was inconclusive, and the authors examine the roles and the countries involved, stating a greater willings for negotiation and compromise is necessary for the success of the Protocol.

Getting climate policy on track after The Hague
