Debating the transatlantic relationship: rhetoric and reality
Article Abstract:
The rhetoric surrounding the crisis in transatlantic relations between the United States and Europe is overcharged as both countries have reached a turning point. The real questions to be considered are not about how this crisis came about but the reason for its persistence and the answer lies in the structure of interdependence and in the expectations of the relationship.

NATO: the practice and politics of transformation
Article Abstract:
There is a need for a shared determination among governments that NATO can continue to serve their needs. The US-European security relations are unlikely to recover from the Iraq conflict, if NATO's transformation agenda and the NATO-EU 'Berlin Plus' arrangement are not exploited to the full extent.

The Euro: faith, hope and parity
Article Abstract:
The inauguration of the Euro, as the currency of the European Union demonstrated that the initial customs union has grown to such an extent, that member states are willing to surrender their national central banks. The creation of the Euro facilitated the shifting nature of money.
