East Asian stability and the defense of the Republic of China on Taiwan
Article Abstract:
The United States wants to prevent the People's Republic of China from dominating East Asia. It has placed a military force on the Taiwan Straits to encourage political stability in the region. It should also participate in constructive economic exchange with China to encourage the communist regime to relax its economic and political policy. China's Communist Party retains a tight grip on political matters in China and is loathe to allow reforms of any kind.
