Proliferation, missile defense and the conduct of modern war

Article Abstract:

The worldwide proliferation of ballistic missiles equipped with weapons of mass destruction pose grave danger to the US in its various engagements abroad. The potential contribution of defenses against ballistic missiles is being reexamined by the US in order to gauge how they would help the country to meet future military risks as well as its security commitments.

Article Abstract:

Enabling defense transformation: network centric warfare and ballistic missile defense

Article Abstract:

Defense transformation of the U.S requires it to become capable of ballistic missile defense (BMD) which incorporates network centric warfare (NCW) principles. NCW's success in BMD should enable the Department of Defense (DoD) to develop integrated multi-system capabilities using NCW rather than individual weapons.
