Hopeful neoliberals, derailed collectivists-emerging Paradigms on Latin America
Article Abstract:
There are different viewpoints regarding the political and economic situation in Latin America. Optimists believe that effective privatization, new investments, and the possibility of government-supported employment and of the obedience of the armed forces to civilian authorities will result in a better future for Latin America. However, pessimists believe that the predatory nature of Latin American armed forces will result in revolutions such as those in Battista's Cuba and Somoza's Nicaragua.
